School Year 2017-18 Professional Learning

To ensure that all new and returning teacher leaders can access resources and supports to continue to grow in their role, we are offering a series of required professional learning sessions to be completed throughout the 2017-18 school year.

Your TLC stipend includes time commitment for professional learning during the school year to support your continued development and effectiveness in your teacher leader role.

Professional Learning Opportunities for 2017-18

In addition to sessions provided by teams across Human Resources, Academics and Innovation and Student Equity and Opportunity outlined for each role above, the TLC team will continue to offer a set of professional learning opportunities, established during summer training and connected to Schoology throughout the year, to cultivate ongoing learning, connections, and resource-sharing. The TLC team will also continue to share additional optional opportunities, within and outside DPS to complement teacher and school leader learning and honor the different needs and unique contexts.

Early Literacy Specialists Also in a TLC Role:
Please note, if you are a Senior Team Lead, Team Lead or Team Specialist serving as your school’s Early Literacy Specialist, your attendance at Early Literacy Specialist Support for Implementation sessions (September 2017-May 2018) can fulfill your requirements for the TLC ‘Leading in Academic Content’ stranding during the 17-18 school year.

* Sessions during Leadership Development Weeks will be offered online and in-person, with in-person sessions happening at locations throughout the district and on several different dates/times to accommodate the schedules and needs of individual teacher leaders.
